Some students have specific learning needs which mean that age appropriate benchmarks are challenging. As a whole school we are committed to each and every student making as much progress as is possible. Students who require additional support are mostly catered for in the classroom by teachers differentiating learning to match their needs.
Some may receive Teacher Aide support or other outside agencies. The school runs both Junior and Senior booster groups in Writing and Mathematics for students who need extra assistance. Students in Year 1 and 2 can also access the Reading Recovery programme if necessary. All of our Special Needs programmes are coordinated by a dedicated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Carlene White.
