Music Room

Welcome to The Music Room

This year the music at Meadowbank is being taught by Mary Smol.  Mary will be working on Monday, Wednesday,  and Friday.

In term 3 the Year 2  children will be working with poetry and stories to make music. They will be learning a range of poems and adding their own musical ideas using a range of instruments to enhance the poetry.  They will then use stories and create a musical background and sound effects to accompany the story.

In Years 3 the children will also be using poetry with music.  They will be learning how to use speech to create music and adding layers to create rhythmic pieces.  They will also be using longer poems and adding sound effects and learning how to create graphic scores.

In Years 4 and 5 the children will working with the ukulele.  For the Year 4 children it will be an introduction, and for the Year 5 children an opportunity to learn more chords and a bigger range of songs.

The Year 6 children will be working on composition for their Meadowbank Wearable Arts Presentation in week 4.

The Year 0 and 1 children will not be having music lessons in term 3.
